A dispute over a family historical home continues to plague one woman.

Marie Ashley, the former resident of the old Ketcham Home in Hollis, who has since been evicted after relatives decided they wanted to transform the lot located in Hollis into six two-family houses, says that one of the nearly 30 cats she was taking care of at the home has been euthanized.

While living at the home for nearly 27 years, Ashley was running a certified feral cat colony, but since being evicted she has not been able to take care of them.

Ashley said that nine of the cats were sent to the Queens Animal Care Center in Ridgewood.

“They said that particular cat, since it was picked up, would not eat,” said Ashley about the animal that was euthanized. “It did not eat for six days and went into decline.”
