The “Beyond Familiar” pop art exhibit at the Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning Center will go out with a bang on Saturday, Sept. 13, with a closing reception and artist talk starting at 5 p.m.
There will be snacks, drinks, a chance to interact with artists featured in the exhibit and performances by D’ Black, a spoken word artist and actor; Althea Brown, a poet and visual artist; and Ethel Calhoun, a dancer. Closing out the evening’s affair with African drummers and dancing is the Devore Dance Center.
The pop art exhibit is located at 161-04 Jamaica Ave.
