A solid win for the Diamondbacks yesterday, doing a good job of holding on to the one-run lead down the stretch. Andrew Saalfrank notched the five-out save, extending his lead as the team’s currently active leader in that category with his… third. The fact he got the save while pitching more than one inning is notable: that has very much come back into vogue for the D-backs this year. Yesterday was the ninth time a D-backs was credited with the save while recording four outs or more: the team hasn’t reached double figures in that category for two decades. There were 11 such saves in 2005, split between Jose Valverde (7) and Brandon Lyon (4).
