Police say a man is in custody after allegedly firing a gun near several Winter Springs officers in what he later admitted was an attempt to get their attention. Latest Forecast

According to the department, officers were about 200 feet away from Devin Williams just after midnight Wednesday when they heard gunfire. Body camera video released by police shows officers discussing the shots.

After a search, officers located Williams, who reportedly told them he had a gun. At one point, the video shows him asking officers, “Y’all not going to try to shoot me or nothing?” to which an officer responded, “You’re not getting shot, dude.”

Investigators say Williams eventually admitted he had been drinking. Police say they found an empty bottle
