ANN ARBOR, MI — The University of Michigan-Ann Arbor has expanded its battery lab to a second location at 1910 E. Ellsworth Road, providing companies with more open access to its facilities.

Lab directors showcased the new facility in a press event and tour of the new site on Wednesday, Aug. 27. The site boasts 4,000 feet of lab and production space, which includes an industrial automatic laser welder for battery assembly and a three-megawatt-hour lithium-ion battery production line, according to staff.
