BROWN COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) – The charitable foundations of Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) and We Energies are helping first responders across northeast Wisconsin by providing critical new tools through their Rewarding Responders Grant program.
On Thursday, the foundations unveiled lifesaving equipment for the Suamico Fire Department and the Harrison Fire Department.
The Suamico Fire Department is using its grant to purchase a new water rescue stretcher, giving emergency medical technicians a safer way to remove people in distress from waterways. The Harrison Fire Department will use its grant to buy an underwater communications system that allows firefighters to relay information directly to personnel on shore during dive operations.
