AUSTIN, Texas — A person is dead after a crane tipped over at a construction site in northwest Austin Thursday afternoon.

At around 12:40 p.m., Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS) said medics and Austin Fire Department (AFD) crews were on the scene of a reported mobile crane on its side with an unconscious person trapped inside at 9009 Spicebrush Drive, where Austin Water's Great Hills Lift Station is located.

Crews were working to get the person out, but at 12:55 p.m., medics pronounced them dead at the scene.
