GRAND FORKS – Touted as “one of the region’s most ambitious treasure hunts” by organizers, the Seven Paces Treasure Hunt is set to launch Saturday, Aug. 30, in Grand Forks.
The grand prize is worth more than $20,000.
This is the largest treasure hunt in North Dakota history, said Justin Auch and Matt Winjum, co-creators of the event.
The winner will receive $15,000 and a diamond necklace valued at about $5,000, Winjum said.
Corey Schullo, a goldsmith and one of the owners of River City Jewelers, designed and donated the one-of-a-kind pendant that constitutes the centerpiece of the prize, Auch said in the contest announcement.
The jewel’s value, both artistic and financial, adds another layer of excitement and uniqueness to this year’s hunt, he said. A video of the pendant is available
