LEEDS, Ala. (TRIBUNE) — All four schools in Leeds have returned to normal operations following a brief lockout Thursday morning after reports of police activity in the area.
Despite the lockdown, classes continued as usual inside the buildings and the action was considered more of a precautionary measure than a defensive one.
On Thursday morning, a post from an officer on the Leeds Police Department’s Facebook page suggested a manhunt was underway near Leeds Memorial Park. However, Chief Paul Irwin clarified that the situation did not meet the department’s definition of a manhunt.
