With Labor Day approaching, here’s what Oregonians need to know about the weather over the holiday weekend.
Aug. 29 is forecast to have warmer temperatures with highs between 88-92 degrees in the Willamette Valley and central Oregon. The Oregon Coast should have cooler temperatures.
Aug. 30 and Aug. 31 will be cooler in the Willamette Valley and central Oregon with temperatures forecast between 82-87 degrees.
“We're almost 10 degrees above normal on Friday, but then Saturday and Sunday, we're only one to three degrees above normal for the most part,” said Tyler Kranz, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Portland.
The temperature for most of the weekend is typical for this time of year and this is not an unusual heat event, Kranz said.
