SHREVEPORT, LA. (KTAL/KMSS) — The Shreveport Police Department's (SPD) Violent Crimes unit has made an arrest in connection with an August 3 homicide.

SPD says they responded to reports of a shooting in the 1000 block of Dalzell Street and found a black female with multiple gunshot wounds inside a residence.

The Shreveport Fire Department pronounced the victim dead on the scene

After weeks of investigation, detectives believe they have identified the shooter and arrested Dion Randle, 53, for second-degree homicide.

SPD encourages anyone with additional information to contact the Violent Crimes Unit. The investigation is still ongoing.
