HARRIS — A fatal shooting took place at a residence in Harris Township early Wednesday morning. According to a press release from the Michigan State Police (MSP), the deceased is described as an adult male. Police described the shooting as isolated incident and there is no ongoing danger to the public.

According to the release, at approximately 12:19 a.m. Wednesday, troopers from the Iron Mountain MSP Post responded to a 911 call reporting that there had been a shooting at a residence on Menominee County Road 551.

Troopers arrived on the scene and discovered that a 34-year-old man from Wilson had been shot. Troopers, along with EMS personnel, attempted life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
