Claire’s, a mall boutique that sells accessories and jewelry for tweens and teens, announced on Monday its intention to close nearly 300 stores across the country after filing for bankruptcy.

According to court documents, the chain retailer will close 16 stores in Pennsylvania, including its location at the Laurel Mall in Hazleton.

At least 20 stores in the state will remain open, including the Claire’s location within the Wyoming Valley Mall in Wilkes-Barre Township and the Viewmont Mall in Scranton, the court filing said.

Closing dates for the stores were not made available.

Claire’s filed for bankruptcy on Aug. 21 for the second time. It first filed for bankruptcy in 2018.
