MADISON, Wis. -- A crash on the westbound Beltline was causing backups near the Yahara River Thursday afternoon.

The crash was reported at around 12:20 p.m. The Flex Lane was closed due to the incident. The scene has since cleared.

Law enforcement and fire crews from Monona responded to the scene as well as the Dane County Sheriff's Office. Dane County dispatchers could not confirm how many vehicles were involved in the crash or if anyone was injured.

News 3 Now's Jaylon Banks, who drove past the scene, witnessed at least three vehicles pulled over into the Flex Lane.
