LEXINGTON, S.C. (WOLO)– Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person who died in a vehicle vs. moped incident that happened this morning, said the coroner’s office.

The incident happened in the 3400 block of Charleston Highway in the West Columbia area of Lexington County on Thursday, August 28, shortly after 3 a.m.

According to Coroner Fisher, Brandon Edward Clance, 34, of West Columbia was traveling westbound on Charleston Hwy when he was hit from behind by a vehicle.

Clance was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured and remained on scene, said the coroner’s office.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate the incident.
