CINCINNATI (WXIX) - From rust to falling debris, some residents say they are concerned about bridge conditions in Cincinnati.

Kim Kempke walks along the Ohio River often, taking in the breeze and the sound of birds filling the air.

During one of her afternoon strolls, something else caught her eye.

“I looked up and I was like, wow, I can see the rebar,” Kempke describes. “It was like all rusty, and like, a lot of concrete was missing.”

Kempke is talking about the concrete steps located on the back side of Heritage Bank Arena near the Ohio River.

The frequent river stroller said she reported her concerns to the city in 2022 and again in 2025.
