CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Carlos Santana is done in Cleveland once again.
The team released Santana, 39, Thursday.
He had been on waivers but was not claimed, since any team claiming him would’ve had to pick up the remaining $2 million on his $12 million contract.
Santana is now a free agent and can sign with any team for any amount.
He hit .225 in 116 games this season, his 3rd stint in Cleveland.
C.J. Kayfus and Kyle Manzardo are expected to share 1B duties the rest of the season.
