LawnStarter "evaluated 943 U.S. counties with a FEMA-designated moderate to very high flood risk." Analysts looked at data in four main areas: flood risk, economic impact, population vulnerability and preparedness.

More than 20 Mississippi counties were included in the national ranking. Most got an overall score in the 40s, but the site also broke down how each place fares in comparison to the rest of the U.S. on each metric.
