Foul weather is predicted to relent in northern Washoe County through Labor Day.

It should be welcome news for the tens of thousands of Burning Man attendees who have faced numerous challenges due to storm systems that hit the region over the weekend and the first half of the week.

Wet, muddy conditions have slowed entry into the event. At several occasions, conditions worsened to the point that the main gate was closed to new arrivals, with some early-arriving Burners waiting in their vehicles for nearly a full day.

One man was airlifted from the event to a local trauma center after he was electrocuted on Tuesday night . Burning Man urged attendees to keep electrical equipment dry, covered and elevated.
