IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - Several University of Iowa Health Care (UIHC) projects are being delayed due to changes in federal funding.
The funding changes are expected to significantly impact the health care industry over the next 10 years. According to the Congressional Budget Office, the state of Iowa will see a $9.5 billion reduction for health care over the next decade.
UIHC shared that while it is in a more stable position financially than most other academic health care systems, funding cuts will still have an impact on multiple projects.
Work on the Jacobson Tower, Hospital Parking Ramp 1, the Wendell Johnson Speech and Hearing Center, and the hospital entrance and skywalk will be delayed.
