This weekend, you have the unique opportunity to watch the story of the Tuskegee airmen come to life on stage.
The award-winning play, “Black Angels over Tuskegee,” is the story of the journey of six men who become the first Black aviators of World War II.
Action 8 News spoke with the writer and director, Layon Gray.
“The Tuskegee Airmen story is not just African American history, it’s American history. Everyone wants to root for the underdog and back at that time in the 1940s, segregation and racial issues were at its height, the Tuskegee Airmen still prevailed, but also yourself.”
The play will be presented at the Davis Theatre in downtown Montgomery Saturday. There are two performances, one at 3PM and another at 7:30PM.
