BARTOW, Fla. (WFLA) — The Polk County firefighters reunited with the family whose baby they helped deliver earlier this month.
On Aug. 20, Polk County Fire Rescue Station 28's crew responded to a home on Southgrove Place in Highland City, where a woman was about to give birth.
Recounting the day, the new mother said that the couple had been planning on a homebirth, but, not realizing she had already gone into labor, she didn't call the midwife until 30 minutes before giving birth.
Fortunately, the crew worked quickly to help deliver the newborn baby within just four minutes of arriving at the home.
