BAY CITY, MI – More than 100 new housing units will come to Bay City thanks in part to a grant from the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE).
A $1 million Brownfield Redevelopment Grant was awarded by EGLE to Bay City for a project that will be up to 116 new housing units to the city at 108 Adams Street, 101-109 North Jefferson and 501 Columbus Avenue. The units have been described as middle- and low-income housing.
The addresses being viewed for new housing have previously been used as a power substation, school, store, restaurant, open-air market, drycleaner and YMCA, according to a news release. As of now, the properties are blighted and vacant.
