Fresno County is poised to issue a local emergency due to the Garnet Fire.

The Fresno County Board of Supervisors has a special meeting scheduled on Friday to ratify a local emergency.

Driving the news: The Garnet Fire sparked on Aug. 24 and has already spread to burn through 14,000 acres east of Pine Flat lake. • Evacuation orders have been issued for zones K27, K30, K31, K32-A and K40, with evacuation warnings for zones K28, K29, K32B, K74, K85 and K160. • Fresno County has already closed Avocado Lake to the public as fire crews will utilize the park in their firefighting efforts. • CalFire reported Thursday morning that the blaze is at 0% containment.
