A new grant will help an auto equipment maker build a plant to create jobs in Macon County.

A $433,000 grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission, a federal-state partnership, will provide sewer services necessary for Shinsung NVH USA to locate in Shorter.

Shinsung, a supplier for Hyundai, Kia and other automakers, is building a warehouse just north of Interstate 85 which is expected to create 35 jobs.

Gov. Kay Ivey announced the grant, which will be combined with a $432,000 Community Development Block Grant awarded earlier this year.
