LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Rainfall records are being broken this month in Little Rock. So far, Little Rock Adams Field has received 4.99 inches of rain, breaking the daily record of 1.91 inches set on August 28, 1978.

Today marks the second-wettest August day of all time in Arkansas. Some daily rainfall records for August include:

August 13, 1966 - 6.79 inches

August 29, 1978 - 4.15 inches

August 28, 2025 - 4.99 inches

More rain is expected to fall this afternoon, possibly breaking more records as a complex of showers and thunderstorms passes through the state. Heavy rain and minor flash flooding are expected, which may impact the afternoon and evening commute.

Remember to slow down and be cautious while driving, especially in school zones, to avoid hydroplaning.
