PALO ALTO — Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto has landed a burst of new merchants, including a restaurant that will open its first Northern California location.

“Palo Alto and Stanford Shopping Center are extremely desirable spots, similar to being in Beverly Hills or on Rodeo Drive,” said David Taxin, a partner with Meacham Oppenheimer, a commercial real estate firm. “Palo Alto has the highest retail rents in the Bay Area and some of the highest in California.”

Here are some of the details for the newer additions to Stanford Shopping Center:

— Rivian, an electric vehicle maker, is now open near Neiman Marcus next to Arboretum Road.

— Reformation, a womenswear brand that offers sustainable apparel and accessories, has opened its first store in the South Bay and on the Peninsula. It
