STEELE, N.D. — A 20-year-old Bismarck man died early Thursday, Aug. 28, when the car he was driving struck another vehicle in the passing lane of Interstate 94 near Steele, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred in the eastbound lane at mile marker 196 near Steele at 6:40 a.m., the patrol said in a news release. Conditions were foggy at the time of the crash, the patrol said.

The 20-year-old Bismarck man was driving a 2012 Nissan Versa in the passing lane at a high rate of speed when it struck the rear of a 2023 Subaru Crosstrek, the patrol said.
