A stretch of stormy days will come to an end on Thursday for the Sierra.

A stray downpour can't be ruled out in the afternoon, but the monsoon moisture responsible for the widespread heavy rain and lightning the past few days will be moving farther east. Most areas will stay dry.

Temperatures around Lake Tahoe will be in the 40s Thursday morning. Afternoon temperatures will be warmer with drier skies. Look for highs near 80 degrees.

The Valley and Foothills will be sunny with light winds and seasonably warm temperatures. Morning lows will be in the low to mid 60s. Afternoon highs will be near 90 in the Foothills and in the mid 90s in the Valley.
