SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Our team coverage on the tragedy out of Minnesota now turns to speaking with catholic schools in our area to see how they’re approaching such a sensitive subject with students.

It’s a tricky subject to talk about, especially with kids who may not understand the severity of a school shooting.

The Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Springfield is approaches the topic with two things: care and prayer, but there are a few other factors Superintendent Maria Wagner tries to keep in mind, “We want to make sure that it’s appropriate for the age level and depending on what their parents have told them has happened.”
