RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Recycling and trash collections through the Central Virginia Waste Management Authority (CVWMA) will be delayed the week of Labor Day.

According to a spokesperson for CVWMA, there will be no recycling and trash collections on Monday, Sept. 1, as CVWMA offices will be closed for Labor Day.

Due to offices being closed on Labor Day, all collections will be delayed by a day. Collections normally scheduled for Friday, Sept. 5, will take place on Saturday, Sept. 6.

Officials said the delay will affect Red Week recyclers in the following areas: • City of Richmond • Henrico County • Hanover County • Goochland County • City of Petersburg • City of Hopewell • Town of Ashland
