Construction on the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Heber Valley Utah Temple has begun, but the legal battle is not over for the Red Ledges residents who sued Wasatch County and the Church over temple plans.
Fourth District Judge Jennifer Mabey ruled in favor of the 210-foot-tall, well-lit temple continuing construction July 23. The following week, Red Ledges residents Bruce Van Dusen, Bruce Quade, Shawn Savarino and Dominic Savarino appealed that decision to the Utah Supreme Court. Represented by Robert Mansfield, the residents primarily take umbrage with the height of the building and with the generous lighting plan.
