WYTHE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR)- A non-profit agency in Wythe County, which employs people with disabilities, has been awarded a defense contract worth $76,202,871.

Mount Rogers Community Services, based in Wytheville, will produce "combat flame resistant type II and type III shirts," according to the U.S. Department of Defense.

“For years, Mount Rogers Community Services has manufactured high-quality products for our military," said U.S. Representative Morgan Griffith in a statement. “This DLA awarding contract for more than $76 million helps Mount Rogers Community Services produce combat flame-resistant shirts for the American Army.”

Griffith said the agency's manufacturing facilities are based in Atkins, Hillsville, and Wytheville.
