A Gloucester County school district has filed a lawsuit against the Borough of National Park, claiming it paid more than $56,000 for unused sewer services over more than a decade.

The West Deptford Board of Education says in court papers the district been paying National Park about $4,500 a year for sewer services even though the township has been providing its own service since around 2011.

The school district, which borders National Park needed sewer services from the borough in previous year, according to the suit filed July 24 in Gloucester County Superior Court.

“The school district has records dating back to 2013 for sewer payments to the Township of West Deptford, though services may have been provided prior to that year,” the suit says.
