A Colorado man who was left paralyzed after multiple accidents is determined to walk again.
Russel McKeehan, 54, is a former paramedic whose medical setbacks began three decades ago when he was working with a patient in the back of an ambulance and the driver fell asleep, rolling the vehicle, KCNC reported.
In 2007, he underwent an outpatient surgical procedure to help with debilitating headaches he was suffering from the accident, but ended up on life support, paralyzed from the waist down.
“I truly hate even saying this, but I told them, ‘Kill me now. I don’t want to live. I can’t live if I can’t, at least, be a productive part of society. I don’t want to live.’
“Thank God they didn’t let me do that,” McKeehan told the outlet.
