The road leading to Kuwohi — formerly known as Clingmans Dome — in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park will have two morning closures days to support educational programs for students who live in the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians community.
The 7-mile road will close for half-days on Sept. 9 and 16, closing at midnight the night before and reopenning by 2 p.m., the park said in a news release Aug. 28. During the closures, the roadway will be closed to all pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.
