Maine (WABI) - Some good news if you’re traveling by car or air this Labor Day weekend.
AAA says prices on gas, hotels, car rentals, and airfare are down from last year.
The national average for a gallon of gas is $3.21
Last year on Labor Day, the national average was $3.33.
AAA finds that domestic flights are six percent cheaper this Labor Day weekend compared to last year.
And, domestic hotels are 11% cheaper.
If you’re hitting the road this weekend, AAA says the worst time to travel will be Friday from noon to 8 p.m. and Monday afternoon from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Regardless of where you’re headed this weekend, officials want you to be prepared and use caution.
“We want this to be the safest holiday possible because we’re seeing too many fatalities and crashes out there right now,”
