SHAWNEETOWN, Ill. — Gov. JB Pritzker and officials broke ground on a new fertilizer distribution center along the Ohio River.
The project, funded with $12.6 million from Gov. Pritzker’s Rebuild Illinois capital program, is expected to enhance regional freight activity and create nearly 50 jobs.
This new facility will serve as a hub for receiving, storing, blending, and transporting fertilizer.
It aims to ease local agricultural operations by reducing the distance to the nearest port.
Officials anticipate completing construction by 2026.
