WASHINGTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS, Ark. — A Washington County judge has signed an order limiting over a dozen agencies from making public comment on the case for Andrew McGann , the 29-year-old Springdale teacher accused of killing a husband and wife at Devil's Den on July 26.
The order, which was agreed upon by all parties in the case, said that comments made by agencies or members of agencies privy to the details of the case could negatively affect McGann's right to a fair trial.
"Public statements by participants are likely to influence the opinions and beliefs of potential jurors, thereby posing a serious and imminent threat of material prejudice to this proceeding," the order says.
