WEST ST. PAUL, Minn. (FOX 9) - The suspect in an hours-long standoff in West St. Paul was shot and killed by a SWAT officer.

The shelter-in-place that was issued for the area has now been lifted.

What we know:

West St. Paul police say that, just after 11 a.m., officers found a motorcycle in connection to a man wanted for several felony warrants on the 1200 block of Ottawa Avenue.

Police officers surrounded the home the man was in, and evacuated the other residents.

Around 2:15 p.m., the suspects fired shots towards SWAT officers, which hit SWAT armored vehicles and one officer's handheld ballisitic shield, police said.

The SWAT team at the scene used multiple tactics to negotiate and obtain a visual with the suspect, according to authorities.
