WALKER, Mich. (WOOD) — A new bus route that took people from downtown Grand Rapids out to Millennium Park all summer was a “success,” The Rapid says.

Route 1000 operated between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays from May through August and just completed its last route of the summer. There was “positive response” to the pilot route, according to The Rapid’s Chief Executive Officer Deb Prato.

Route 12, which goes from downtown to the Standale Meijer also expanded during the summer to include Sundays. That route, which operates hourly from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Central Station to the Standale Meijer, will continue into the winter starting this Sunday, The Rapid said.
