A pedestrian was fatally struck by a train in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, in the Montérégie region, on Thursday.
It happened around 11:30 a.m. on a section of the railroad tracks located near Sir-Wilfrid-Laurier and Seigneurial west boulevards.
The victim’s identity has not been released. The man died at the scene, according to the Longueuil Police (SPAL).
“It is still possible to travel on Sir-Wilfrid-Laurier Boulevard in both directions, but westbound traffic is disrupted, so this is an area to avoid,” said SPAL spokesperson Maude Surprenant.
She emphasized that “all rail traffic has been halted for an indefinite period.”
