RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Nearly two weeks after he allegedly broke into an apartment near Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), a 28-year-old man was taken into custody while reportedly trespassing on university property.

At about 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12, VCU Police received a report of a burglary at an apartment complex at 1200 W. Marshall Street, located just across the street from multiple university buildings.

The victim told police that someone they did not know entered their apartment without permission and took both money and personal items.

After studying available surveillance footage, VCU Police identified the suspect as 28-year-old Jeremiah Harris of Richmond. A search was then launched for Harris, who was wanted for felony breaking and entering and misdemeanor larceny
