The prize keeps growing.
The Powerball jackpot has climbed to $950 million after no lucky winner won the game’s top prize in Wednesday‘s drawing. This new jackpot is the lottery games’ sixth-largest prize in history and the biggest advertised jackpot in more than a year, according to Powerball.
Should a player win the top prize on Saturday, they can either choose an annuitized prize estimated at $950 million or a lump sum payment of about $428.9 million (both prize options are before tax). Saturday’s drawing will be the 39th drawing since a jackpot was last won in California on May 31.
The sixth-largest prize follows behind the $1.08 billion prize from back in July of 2023 and is less than half of the top Powerball prize of all time, the $2.04 billion jackpot from November of 2022.
