MIAMI, Fla. (WFLA) — A first responder who specializes in catching invasive Burmese pythons had a busy week wrangling the reptiles in Miami-Dade County.
Lt. Jolie Vandervlught with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue was called on two separate occasions after the large snakes were found slithering around the wrong places.
Video provided by the fire department showed Vandervlught pulling one python from the engine compartment of a tractor-trailer.
According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, the python was found inside the truck on the morning of Aug. 23 in Fort Lauderdale. Another python was discovered just after midnight on Aug. 24 in the backyard of a Parkland home.
