A University of Colorado Board of Regents committee proposed a new policy on Thursday that would limit salary increases for the highest-earning employees throughout the university.

The policy, if passed, would impose restrictions on annual salary adjustments for the highest earners on all CU campuses, including CU Boulder, and the CU system administration. The policy aims to create more opportunities for salary equity between the highest and lowest-earning employees, according to the proposal memo.

The policy was initiated by Regent Mark VanDriel and introduced during the Regents’ Governance Committee meeting on Thursday.
