LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - Authorities said a man died early Thursday after being hit from behind while driving a moped.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol said the wreck happened at around 3:15 a.m. on Charleston Highway in Lexington County, just east of Pine Ridge.
Authorities said a 2018 Mazda sedan hit the moped from behind.
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher later identified the driver of the moped as 34-year-old Brandon Edward Clance, of West Columbia. The coroner added Clance was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene.
The driver of the Mazda sedan was not injured.
No further details were immediately available.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
