Two South Korean companies said they will invest $59.4 million in a West Baton Rouge manufacturing facility that will provide components for the defense, automotive, energy and process industries, a move expected to create 275 jobs.

The SNT Motiv and SNT Energy plant in Brusly is also expected to create 418 indirect jobs, according to Louisiana Economic Development.

Plans are to renovate the former Trinity Marine Products building to house the manufacturing plant. The plant shut down in 2016, axing more than 280 workers , and has been vacant since. Operations at the facility are set to begin in the spring, according to LED.
