MAPLE RIDGE — Police investigating the disappearance of British Columbia woman Jessica Cunningham have found human remains in her home in Maple Ridge, B.C.

Staff Sgt. David Lee of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says Mylie Barron, who lived with Cunningham in an intimate relationship, has been taken into custody and charged with indignity to human remains.

But Lee says it’s too early to say if the case is one of intimate partner violence.

He told a news conference that Ridge Meadows RCMP found the remains on Tuesday as they probed Cunningham’s disappearance in Gillis Place, a cul-de-sac in Maple Ridge.

Barron was charged on Wednesday and the homicide investigation team says it is working with the BC Coroners Service to identify the remains.
