TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WFLA) - Attorney General James Uthmeier announced the findings in a crucial state investigation involving child predators and social media.

In a multi-agency initiative, state and federal officials arrested six individuals and plan to arrest two more people.

"There are people here that have illicit motives that want to hurt our children," said Uthmeier.

Uthmeier added that while the state vows to continue to fight for Florida families, parents also need to wake up. "If you don't know what your kids are doing on their cell phone, if you don't know what apps they're accessing, you need to go home and figure it out," said Uthmeier.
